Refund policy

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) apply to any book or product designated as “Clearance,” “Sale,” or sold at a promotional discount (“Clearance Item”) by Ingrove Press (“we”, “us”, “our”). By completing a purchase, you (“you”, “Customer”) agree to these Terms in addition to our general Returns and Refunds Policy, except where expressly varied below.

1. Sale Period & Changes

Clearance sales run for a limited time and are subject to availability. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or end a clearance sale at any time without prior notice.

2. Product Condition – Sold on an “As Is” Basis

All Clearance Items are sold at a reduced price on an “as is” basis due to one or more of the following conditions, which do not affect the completeness or readability of the text:

  • Production characteristics, including printing irregularities (such as colour variation, ink marks, or tipped-in correction pages)
  • Minor cosmetic handling marks, including light shelf-wear, small dents, faint creases, remainder marks, or mild sun exposure

While we make reasonable efforts to disclose notable imperfections, you acknowledge that the reduced price reflects these conditions and accept the item with its inherent characteristics.

3. Availability, Orders & Pricing

  • All items are subject to availability and sold while stocks last.
  • Orders are processed on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • We reserve the right to limit quantities per customer and correct pricing errors.
  • All prices are in Australian Dollars (AUD) and include GST unless stated otherwise.
  • Clearance prices are final once purchased.

4. Payment

Full payment is required at the time of purchase using our accepted payment methods. We are not responsible for any fees charged by your financial institution.

5. No Returns or Refunds for Change of Mind (Clearance Items)

All Clearance Items are final sale.

Unlike our standard products, Clearance Items are not eligible for return, exchange, store credit, or refund for change of mind, including (but not limited to):

  • deciding you no longer want the item
  • ordering incorrectly
  • finding the item cheaper elsewhere
  • dissatisfaction relating to disclosed production characteristics or minor cosmetic damage

This clause overrides our general 30-day change-of-mind return policy for Clearance Items only.

6. Your Rights Under Australian Consumer Law

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure, and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.

For Clearance Items, a major failure is limited to a defect not disclosed prior to sale that renders the book unusable for reading, such as:

  • extensive missing or duplicated pages
  • a completely detached text block
  • severe damage making the text illegible

Minor cosmetic defects and disclosed production characteristics do not constitute a major failure.

7. Defective or Incorrect Items (Clearance Items)

If you receive a Clearance Item that is incorrect, damaged beyond what was disclosed, or faulty, you must:

  1. Contact us at orders@ingrovegroup.com as soon as possible and within 7 days of delivery
  2. Provide your order number and clear photographic evidence of the issue

We may request the item be returned for assessment. If a return is required, we will provide instructions and may cover reasonable return postage costs.

For valid claims, we will, at our discretion:

  • provide a replacement (subject to availability), or
  • issue a refund, or
  • offer another appropriate remedy in accordance with Australian Consumer Law

8. Packaging Requirements for Approved Returns

Where a return is approved, items must be packaged securely using cardboard or bubble wrap to prevent movement and damage during transit. Items returned in an unsafe or damaged condition may not be eligible for a remedy.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability is limited, at our option, to:

  • replacement of the goods or supply of equivalent goods
  • payment of the cost of replacement
  • payment of the cost of repair

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. You submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria and the federal courts of Australia.

11. General

If any part of these Terms is found to be invalid, the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect. Our failure to enforce any right does not constitute a waiver.

12. Agreement

By purchasing a Clearance Item, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms, including that Clearance Items are final sale and non-refundable except as required by Australian Consumer Law.
